Proven analytics engine
Azure Analysis Services delivers enterprise-grade BI semantic modelling capabilities with the scale, flexibility and management benefits of the cloud. Azure Analysis Services helps you to transform complex data into actionable insights. Azure Analysis Services is built on the proven analytics engine in Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services.
US government entities are eligible to purchase Azure Government services from a licensing solution provider with no upfront financial commitment or directly through a pay-as-you-go online subscription.
Important: The price in R$ is merely a reference; this is an international transaction and the final price is subject to exchange rates and the inclusion of IOF taxes. An eNF will not be issued.
Azure Germany is available to customers and partners who have already purchased this, doing business in the European Union (EU), the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) and in the United Kingdom (UK). It provides data residency in Germany with additional levels of control and data protection. You can also sign up for a free Azure trial.
The total cost of Azure Analysis Services depends on the chosen tier and the instance.
Azure Analysis Services is available in developer, basic and standard tiers. The key feature differentiators between the tiers are in the table below:
|DirectQuery storage mode|
|Back up and restore|
Within each tier, the price of instances vary by the processing power, QPUs and memory size.
The Developer tier is recommended for evaluation, development and test scenarios. It includes all the functionality of the standard tier but is limited in processing power, QPUs and memory size. The developer tier doesn’t offer an SLA.
The basic tier is a general-purpose tier and recommended for production solutions with small Tabular models, limited user concurrency and simple data refresh requirements.
The standard tier is best suited for mission-critical production applications that require elastic user-concurrency and have rapidly growing data models. It has advanced data refresh capability that helps customers achieve near real-time data model updates.
Scale-out instances can be added to a primary instance for faster data and query processing. Scale-out instances are priced at the same rate as primary instances.
Support and SLA
- Free billing and subscription management support.
- Guaranteed SLA for basic and standard tiers. Read the SLA
A Query Processing Unit (QPU) in Azure Analysis Services is a unit of measure for relative computational performance for query and data processing. A standard tier S4 instance (which offers 400 QPUs) provides four times the computational performance of a standard tier S1 instance (which offers 100 QPUs). As a rule of thumb, 1 virtual core approximates to roughly 25 QPUs, although the exact performance depends on the underlying hardware and the generation of hardware used.
You can change performance levels within a tier. For example, you can move from S2 to S4 seamlessly, or vice versa. You can also move from a lower tier to a higher tier, but not vice versa. For example, you can move from basic to standard tier or developer to basic tier, but you can’t move from standard to basic tier or basic to developer tier.
Azure Analysis Services bills on a predictable hourly rate based on both the service tier and performance level for a single instance. Actual usage is computed to the second and billed hourly. For example, if an instance exists for 12 hours and 15 minutes in a month, your bill will show usage of 12.25 hours. If your instance is only active for 6 minutes, your bill will show usage of 0.1 hour.
No charges apply when you pause your instance.
