Azure Site Recovery extends disk, configuration, and Linux support
Published date: June 30, 2017
To help users simplify migrations and make business continuity solutions accessible for all applications, Azure Site Recovery is extending disk size support, configuration options, and Linux OS support. Following the recent availability of increased disk size support in Azure, Site Recovery will now support the migration and failover of virtual machines with disk sizes up to 4-TB to accommodate large enterprise workloads. Our disaster recovery service will now support Azure IaaS machines using Storage Spaces Direct, a virtualization technology in Windows Server 2016 that groups disks into storage pools to enhance performance and accommodate larger disks. To add greater flexibility, Site Recovery is extending support for Linux OS Ubuntu on VMware virtualized infrastructure or Azure Virtual Machines.
