IoT Edge Nested Edge is now in private preview

Nested Edge is a new feature of the open-source Azure IoT Edge product that allows customers to deploy IoT Edge nodes across networks organised in hierarchical layers, where only the top layer has connectivity to the cloud and the lower layers in the hierarchy can only communicate with adjacent north and south layers. With nested edge, industrial customers can now deploy IoT Edge nodes without compromising on their strict networking requirements such as ANSI/IA-95 and keep their environment secure, from several layers of edges to the cloud. Industrial customers can push their workloads to any zones of a manufacturing floor where data is generated and gain local insights that help them reduce unplanned downtime, increase equipment efficiency and reduce defects in the manufacturing process.
