Azure Standard support plan: price drop and faster initial response time

Microsoft Azure offers multiple levels of support. Based on your feedback, two changes have been made to Azure Standard support. Azure Standard support is intended for customers running production workloads and offers unlimited 24/7 technical and billing support for your entire organization.

  • The price is being dropped from USD 300 per month to USD 100 per month for eligible Azure customers. Eligible Azure customers are those who purchased or plan to purchase Azure Standard support directly from Azure.com under Microsoft Online Subscription Agreement.
  • The initial response time for critical support cases (severity A cases) is shortened from 2 hours to 1 hour. This change applies to all Azure Standard support customers (excludes Azure Germany).

What are the details and eligibility of the changes announced today?

The price of Azure Standard support is being dropped from USD 300 per month to USD 100 per month for eligible Azure customers. Eligible Azure customers are those who purchased or plan to purchase Azure Standard support directly from Azure.com under Microsoft Online Subscription Agreement. These updates are not applicable for Azure Germany.

Additionally, the initial response time for critical support cases (severity A cases) is shortened from 2 hours to 1 hour for all Azure Standard support customers. This change applies to all Azure Standard support customers (not applicable to Azure Germany), regardless of how you acquired your Azure Standard support.

I’m a current Azure Standard support customer. How do I qualify for the new price?

No action is required for eligible Azure Standard support customers. Eligible current Azure Standard support customers will see a USD 300 per month charge, and receive a credit of USD 200 per month for the remaining duration of the term, starting with the next billing period. After your term has been renewed, the new price of USD 100 per month will be reflected.

Eligible Azure customers are those who purchased or plan to purchase Azure Standard support directly from Azure.com under Microsoft Online Subscription Agreement. These updates are not applicable for Azure Germany.

I’m seeing a credit on my Azure Standard support invoice. What does that mean?

For the remaining duration of your term, existing Azure Standard support customers will continue to see a USD 300 per month charge for Standard support, and receive a credit of USD 200 per month. After your term renews, the new price USD 100 per month will be charged.

I have Developer support. How do I upgrade to Standard support?

To change your support plan, first cancel your existing Azure Developer Support. Then purchase Azure Standard support, or contact Azure billing support to make that change for you.

I’m a Microsoft Azure Enterprise Agreement customer. Am I eligible for the changes announced today?

The Azure Standard support price remains unchanged for Enterprise Agreement customers. The Enterprise Agreement Support Plan Upgrade Offer was specifically designed for customers who purchased Azure under an Enterprise Agreement to provide additional benefits. These additional benefits include higher tier support with pooled account management services and general advisory support.

The faster initial response time for critical support cases (severity A cases) from 2 hours to 1 hour applies for all Azure Standard support customers (not applicable to Azure Germany).

As an Azure Government customer, am I eligible for the changes announced today?

Eligible Azure Government customers in the US who purchased or plan to purchase Azure Standard support directly from Azure.com under a Microsoft Online Subscription Agreement will see a price change from USD 375 per month to USD 125 per month. Current eligible Azure Government Standard support customers will receive a credit of USD 250 per month until their term renews with the new price of USD 125 per month.

Standard support price remains unchanged for Azure Government customers who purchased or plan to purchase Azure Standard support under an Enterprise Agreement. Azure Government customers who purchased support under Enterprise Agreement can be eligible for the Enterprise Agreement Support Plan Upgrade Offer to receive additional benefits.

The faster initial response time for critical support cases (severity A cases) from 2 hours to 1 hour applies for all Azure Government Standard support customers.

As an Azure Germany customer, am I eligible for changes announced today?

Changes announced today are not applicable to Azure Germany. Azure Germany customers eligible for the Enterprise Agreement Support Plan Upgrade Offer are already receiving additional benefits.
