Retirement of the Azure Media Redactor on 14 September 2023

As Microsoft’s Responsible AI Standards outline, Microsoft is committed to fairness, privacy, security and transparency with respect to AI systems. To better align our products to this new Standard and the Limited Access policy for other Microsoft products, Azure Media Services will be retiring the following capabilities on 14 September 2023:

After 14 September 2023, any applications that you have developed using the Azure Media Redactor preset will begin experiencing errors or failed job submissions.

Action required

The Azure Media Redactor (RESTv2) preset will be retired and is not being replaced at this time. If you would instead like to detect people in a video, we recommend you update your applications to use the Video Indexer APIs for detecting observed people and matching observed people to faces and submit a request to get access to the Limited Access programme for these features.

If you are currently using the Video Analyser preset, we recommend updating your applications to use the Video Indexer APIs for video analysis, which offers an extended range of capabilities.
