Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) support for authenticated IPs is now available
Published date: 04 November, 2019
Authenticated IP for Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), now generally available, provides an extra layer of security by allowing customers to restrict access to their Kubernetes API server to trusted network locations.
In Kubernetes, the API server – the central way to interact with and manage a cluster – receives requests to perform actions in the cluster, such as creating resources or scaling the number of nodes. With the Authenticated IP feature, the API server would only be accessible from a limited set of IP address ranges – any request made to the server from an IP address not among these would be blocked.
