Azure Database for PostgreSQL – Hyperscale (Citus) Basic in public preview

Hyperscale (Citus) Basic is a new tier that gives you the ability to run Hyperscale (Citus) on a single node. With the Basic tier, you are scale-out ready with an easy way to try Hyperscale (Citus). As your data size and performance needs grow in the future, you can easily add worker nodes to your server group, seamlessly converting your configuration to the Standard tier—without any downtime. The Basic tier allows you to put your data in distributed tables from the beginning to be able to move them to worker nodes once you graduate to the Standard tier. Currently, this feature is available in the East US region only.
