Announcing Azure Functions—event-driven, compute-on-demand experience

06 April 2016

Azure Functions was released in public preview at //build. Azure Functions, based on the WebJobs SDK, makes it easy to run a function on a schedule or on a new queue item. To learn more, check out the Azure Functions webpage. In addition to the Azure Functions runtime being opened up for preview, we’ve released the Dynamic Service Plan for Azure Functions. This is a totally new way of running your code in the cloud. The Dynamic Service Plan makes it easy to only pay for when your functions are running and to automatically scale in and out, so you can truly realize a serverless way of building services. To learn more, check out How to scale Azure Functions.
