Azure confidential computing
Azure confidential computing helps protect data in use from direct access, even from malicious insiders with administrative privileges. It enables new scenarios, such as multi-party machine learning, strengthens security for blockchain and enhances Always Encrypted technology in SQL Server.
Azure confidential computing builds on Intel Software Guard Extensions (Intel SGX) to deliver added protections for data while it’s being processed in the cloud. Intel SGX is a tool that enables developers to better protect their most sensitive data and application code in-memory within an encrypted enclave that’s even protected from the cloud provider and low-level system processes.

AI on Azure
Accelerate the end-to-end machine learning life cycle by simplifying the building, training and deployment of machine learning models. Create new possibilities with AI and inferencing capabilities brought to you by Microsoft and Intel.
- Build, train and deploy machine learning models quickly and cost-effectively on the Azure Machine Learning service, using powerful Intel compute resources including central processing units (CPUs) and FPGAs. The Azure Machine Learning service enables autoscaling of Intel compute resources, allowing you to focus more on business outcomes and less on infrastructure.
- Accelerate machine learning model inferencing across Intel hardware using ONNX Runtime, an open-source project founded by Microsoft and supported by Intel. ONNX Runtime supports machine learning optimisation across nGraph deep learning compiler, Intel Distribution of OpenVINO™ toolkit and Intel Math Kernel Library for Deep Neural Networks (Intel MKL-DNN).
