Java support on Microsoft Azure Web Sites
Published date: April 03, 2014
Beginning in April, Azure Web Sites supports hosting Java web applications. You won't have to make a ton of configuration changes - when you're done, you can send all incoming site HTTP traffic to the Java HTTP listen port.Use the Azure Portal to create Java 7 websites with Apache Tomcat 7.0.50 or Jetty 9.1.0 and upload a .WAR file. Get more advanced with complete installs of Apache Tomcat or Jetty (available in the application gallery), and create a web container you can configure for your website.
