Preview: Advanced Threat Protection for Azure Database for MySQL

Published date: September 24, 2018

Advanced Threat Protection in Azure Database for MySQL detects anomalous database activities that might present potential security threats to the database.

Advanced Threat Protection provides a new layer of security that enables customers to detect and respond to potential threats as they occur by providing security alerts on anomalous activities. Users can explore suspicious events by using Server Logs in Azure Database for MySQL, which generates database query and error logs to determine if they result from an attempt to access, breach, or exploit data in the database. For example, Advanced Threat Protection detects anomalous database access activities that indicate potential threats to the MySQL server.

To enable Advanced Threat Protection for your MySQL server, go to Advanced Threat Protection from the Azure Database for MySQL server settings blade in the Azure portal. For more information, see Advanced Threat Protection for Azure Database for MySQL.
