Azure Cosmos DB: Multiple region Availability Zones support with single-region write now generally available

Availability Zones support for Azure Cosmos DB accounts configured for two or more regions and with single-region writes is now in general availability. Availability Zone support can enable cost savings if you were previously using multi-region writes and includes an increased availability SLA of 99.995 percent—even if in a single region. Please note this feature is currently available in regions where Availability Zones is already offered for Azure Cosmos DB.
