Azure Cosmos DB: Azure Functions extension version 4.0 in public preview

A new version 4.0 of the Azure Cosmos DB Azure Functions extension is now supported in preview and is based on the latest version 3.x of the Azure Cosmos DB .NET SDK. This latest version allows you to authenticate with Azure Active Directory and removes your dependency on using a primary key. It also simplifies NuGet dependencies since support for the change feed processor is built-in to the SDK, rather than being a separate package. If you are using the latest version of the Azure Cosmos DB .NET SDK, this means you will no longer have to worry about mismatched versions between the SDK and the extension. Azure Functions extension version 4.0 empowers you to take advantage of the superior performance of the version 3.x .NET SDK and user experience features such as seamlessly deserializing JSON documents. The Azure Cosmos DB Azure Functions extension version 4.0 will initially be available only for the Azure Functions Elastic Premium plan, with support for all plans coming in the next few months.
