Azure DNS

Host your Domain Name System (DNS) domain in Azure.

  • DNS-hosted alongside your apps

  • Ultra-high availability

  • Fast DNS queries

  • Quick updates to DNS records

  • Support for all common DNS record types

Host your DNS domain alongside your apps

Manage your DNS records using the same credentials, as well as billing and support contract, as your other Azure services. Seamlessly integrate Azure services with corresponding cloud DNS updates and streamline your end-to-end deployment process.

Accelerate your apps with fast DNS queries

Get faster responses to DNS queries with a global network of name servers. Anycast networking allows DNS queries to automatically route to the closest name servers for the best possible performance.

Rely on the Microsoft global network of DNS servers

Get ultra-high availability for your domains with the scale and redundancy of the Microsoft global network of name servers.

Get DNS updates without the wait

Use your DNS records right away. When you add a new DNS record, the Azure DNS name servers are updated in a just a few seconds.

Azure DNS Private Zones

Azure DNS private zones provide a simple, reliable, secure DNS service to manage and resolve names in a virtual network without the need to create and manage a custom DNS solution. Use your own domain names and get name resolution for virtual machines within and between virtual networks. Additionally, configure zone names with a split-horizon view to allow a private and a public DNS zone to share the same name.

Azure DNS Private Resolver

Azure DNS Private Resolver is a cloud-native, highly available, and DevOps-friendly service. It provides a simple, zero-maintenance, reliable, and secure DNS service to resolve and conditionally forward DNS queries from a virtual network to on-premises DNS servers and other target DNS servers without the need to create and manage a custom DNS solution. Resolve DNS names hosted in Azure DNS private zones from on-premises networks as well as DNS queries for your own domain names. This will make your DNS infrastructure work privately and seamlessly across on-premises networks and enable key hybrid networking scenarios.
