Azure Maps Web SDK Map Control version 2.0.x and Azure Maps Service Module will be retired on 30 September 2026. Please transition to Azure Maps Web SDK Map Control version 3 if you’re on Azure Maps Web SDK control version 2.0.x and Azure Maps JavaScript REST SDK if you are currently using Azure Maps Service Module by 30 September 2026.
The Azure Maps team is retiring Web SDK Map Control version 2.0.x and Azure Maps Service Module. In Lieu, Azure Maps has deployed Web SDK Map Control version 3 for Azure Maps Web SDK and the Azure Maps JavaScript REST SDK in lieu of the Azure Maps Service Module. The Web SDK Map Control version 3 offers various enhancements while the Azure Maps JavaScript REST SDK provides improved stability. Learn more about Web SDK Map Control version 3 here. You can continue to use Web SDK Map Control version 2.0.x and the Azure Maps Service module until 30 September 2026 without disruption. On 30 September 2026 workloads running Web SDK Map Control version 2.0.x and the Azure Maps Service Module will be deleted and any associated application data will be lost.
