We are retiring some Azure Site Recovery support options on 1st March 2023

Published date: 26 February, 2020

As we continue to invest in Azure Site Recovery capabilities, we are focusing our engineering efforts on disaster recovery to Azure. As a result, we are retiring these scenarios in Site Recovery.

  • Disaster recovery between on-premises VMware or physical server datacentres is not supported after 31st December, 2020.
  • Disaster recovery between on-premises Hyper-V hosts managed by System Centre Virtual Machine Manager (VMM) is not supported after 1st March, 2023.

After these dates, you will not be able to view, manage or run the respective scenario in the portal. Any replication data will also be removed.

What should I do?

We recommend that before these dates, you set up disaster recovery of VMware VMs/Hyper-V VMs to Azure. You can configure Hyper-V site-to-site disaster recovery using Hyper-V replica, but you cannot manage it with Site Recovery.
