Update: SQL Server connector’s V1 actions and triggers will be retired on 31 March 2025 – transition to SQL Server connector’s V2 actions and triggers

Published date: March 31, 2023

Note: On March 31, 2023, we announced that SQL Server connector’s V1 actions and triggers will be retired on March 31, 2024. Based on your feedback, we are extending the retirement date to March 31, 2025  to allow more time to plan your transition.

On 31 March 2025 Azure SQL Server connector’s V1 actions and triggers on Logic Apps will be retired. Please transition to SQL Server connector’s V2 actions and triggers by that date.

Because V2 actions and triggers on the SQL Server connector now provide stable, faster and reliable actions and triggers on the V2 versions, we’ll retire the older (V1) operations and triggers of this connector on 31 March 2025. Please transition to using the V2 actions and triggers of the SQL Server connector by that date.

We encourage you to make the switch sooner to gain the richer benefits of SQL Server V2 connector’s actions and triggers. In addition to the familiar features you are using, here’s a quick comparison between SQL Server connector’s V1 actions and triggers, and SQL Server connector’s V2 operations.

 SQL Server connector’s V1 operations

SQL Server connector’s V2 operations

  • Supports limited authentication types.

  • Supports all authentication types, including AAD, and Managed Identity on Logic Apps.

  • Actions and triggers deprecated since 2019.

  • Actions and triggers continuously improved.

  • Slower actions and triggers

  • Faster actions and triggers

From now through 31 March 2025, you can continue to use SQL Server connector’s V1 actions and triggers, or transition to SQL Server connector’s V2 actions and triggers before 31 March 2025.

Note that SQL Server connector’s V1 actions and triggers to be retired have been marked as deprecated on the connector docs since 2019.

After 31 March 2025, the V1 SQL Server connector’s operations will not be supported. V1 actions and trigger calls will fail.
