New Azure Virtual Machines with high-performance local SSD are now generally available

The new Dd v4-series and Ed v4-series Azure Virtual Machines provide up to 64 vCPUs and are based on the Intel® Xeon® Platinum 8272CL processor. This custom processor runs at a base speed of 2.5 Ghz and can achieve up to 3.4 Ghz all core turbo frequency.
The Dd v4-series and Dds v4-series virtual machine sizes feature fast, large, local SSD storage (up to 2,400 GiB) and are well suited for applications that benefit from low latency, high-speed local storage. For example, applications that need large numbers of reads and writes to temporary storage or applications that need temporary storage data for scratch files or caches would benefit from these new virtual machines. You can attach Standard SSDs and Standard HDDs disk storage to the Dd v4 VMs-series. To use Ultra Azure Disk Storage or Premium SSD disk storage ,select the Dds v4-series of VMs.
The Ed v4-series and Eds v4-series of virtual machine sizes feature up to 504 GiB of RAM, in addition to fast and large local SSD storage (up to 2,400 GiB.) These virtual machines are ideal for memory-intensive enterprise applications and applications that benefit from low latency, high-speed local storage. You can attach Standard SSDs and Standard HDDs disk storage to the Ed v4-series of VMs. To use Ultra Azure Disk Storage or Premium SSD disk storage, select the Eds v4-series of VMs.
