Azure Content Delivery Network—Media and Download Optimised Delivery

Published date: 31 May, 2017

When delivering content to a large global audience, it is critical to ensure optimised delivery of video or web content. Media streaming is time sensitive in that packets arriving late on the client can cause a degraded viewing experience—for example, frequent buffering of video content.

New enhancements will now reduce the latency for delivery of media content and optimise the delivery of large files such as software and firmware. This new capability is targeted to accelerate and optimise performance based on the scenarios you may use Content Delivery Network to deliver including general website or web application delivery, media streaming, file download and more. Optimisation will be applied by default to the scenario specified in the "optimised for" option when you create an endpoint.
