Azure Metrics Advisor
An AI service that monitors metrics and diagnoses issues
Protect your organisation's growth
Embed AI-powered monitoring features to stay one step ahead of incidents – no machine learning expertise required. Monitor the performance of your organisation's growth engines, including sales revenue and manufacturing operations, with Azure Metrics Advisor, built on Anomaly Detector, and a part of Azure Applied AI Services. Quickly identify and fix problems through a powerful combination of monitoring in near-real time, adapting models to your scenario, and offering granular analysis with diagnostics and alerting.
The Anomaly Detector core engine selects the right anomaly-detection model
A guided auto-tuning experience helps you customise the service to your unique needs
All dimension combinations are analysed to pinpoint affected areas for root-cause analysis and diagnoses and send alerts
End-to-end management of data monitoring is easily done through the Metrics Advisor interface, that plugs into popular time-series databases and provides stream monitoring support
Detect anomalies in virtually every scenario
Time-series data behaves differently depending on the scenario—for example, the number of daily visitors to an e-commerce site or the frequency of vibrations for a conveyor-belt component. Anomaly Detector, the core engine of Metrics Advisor, looks at each dataset and automatically selects the best algorithm from the model pool for high accuracy.
Easily configure the service for your organisation’s specifications
Adapt the service to surface the anomalies that matter to you using the guided auto-tuning experience. Provide your detection preferences, such as level of sensitivity, anomaly pattern, or input value range, and Metrics Advisor automatically adjusts the configuration for each time-series dataset on the system. Quickly evaluate the effectiveness of the configuration with the provided estimate generated by the service running the customised model through historical data. Get a suggested alert rule from the service that can be further customised for mission-critical notifications.
Focus on fixing rather than data monitoring
Your data is examined in near-real time and Metrics Advisor pinpoints the minute something happens. Spot unusual behaviour in deep data layers of more than 10,000 dimension combinations. When a problem is flagged, Metrics Advisor quickly shows you the key drivers of the problem with root-cause analysis. You’ll get precise alerts based on your needs, so you can focus on fixing the issue rather than monitoring metrics.
Accelerate time to value
Metrics Advisor simplifies data preparation and ingestion with abundant database connectors and pre-processing of your data by cleaning, aggregating, and filling in gaps for a consistent time-series flow. There's no need to build a user interface from scratch to use Metrics Advisor capabilities. Manage the stream and data monitoring lifecycle from data ingestion, models, visualisation, diagnostics and alerts from one place.

Anomaly Detector is comprised of simple REST APIs with a code-first experience. It's the core engine of Metrics Advisor that detects anomalies in time-series data. It's best applied for ad-hoc data analysis, and it can be run in containers.
Metrics Advisor has additional time-series monitoring features, with pipeline APIs and a built-in user interface for managing the service. It’s designed for live-streaming data and AI analytics, and it supports deploying in Azure.
Currently, it supports only Azure deployments.
