We’re retiring some Azure Site Recovery support options on March 1, 2023

Updated: 26 February, 2020

As we continue to invest in Azure Site Recovery (ASR) capabilities, we are going to focus our engineering efforts on disaster recovery to Azure scenarios. As a result, we will be retiring the following Azure Site Recovery protection scenarios on March 1, 2023:

  • Between customer-owned sites managed by System Center Virtual Machine Manager (SCVMM)
  • From sites managed by SCVMM to Azure

How does this affect me?

On March 1, 2023, any of the existing ASR site recovery configurations for these scenarios will be removed. You will no longer be able to use Azure Site Recovery for these scenarios. Any data related to the replication will also be removed.

What actions should I take?

Before March 1, 2023, you should reconfigure your disaster recovery configurations to use Hyper-V to Azure, without VMM.
