Azure Database for PostgreSQL – Hyperscale (Citus) same region read replicas in public preview

Azure Database for PostgreSQL – Hyperscale (Citus) now supports asynchronous replication of data from one server group (the ‘primary’ or ‘source’) to other server groups (the ‘replicas’) in the same region. This feature allows read-heavy workloads to scale out and be balanced across replica server groups according to your preferences. Replica server groups are read-only; any writes are those replicated from data changes on the primary server group nodes. Replicas can be managed using the Azure portal. Currently, read replicas are available in preview in the East US region only.
