Release annotations using API keys will be retired on 31 August 2024

As the new release annotations in Application Insights provide a simple way to re-use your existing deployment tasks or custom deployment scripts, we’re retiring release annotations using API Keys on 31 August 2024.

With the new release annotations, you no longer need to maintain a dedicated task. Your pre-existing deployment task for App Services or Functions will be sufficient or you can add a custom PowerShell script for other scenarios.

Required action

Follow the detailed steps to transition to new release annotations before 31 August 2024. After 31 August 2024, Release annotations using API Keys will not be supported.
