Azure Event Grid now supports CloudEvents v1.0 for greater interoperability
Published date: November 18, 2019
Azure Event Grid now supports CloudEvents v1.0, the open standard event format incubated at the Cloud Native Computing Foundation and built by several collaborators, including Microsoft.
CloudEvents simplifies interoperability between cloud providers by providing a common event schema for publishing and consuming cloud-based events. It enables uniform tooling, standard ways of routing and handling events, and universal ways of deserializing the event schema.
Azure Event Grid is one of the first cloud services in the market to fully adopt and support the open standard specification for events in the cloud. It allows for greater interoperability of event-driven systems across SaaS solutions and cloud providers by providing an open standard format, simplifying multicloud solutions by providing a common specification of events.
