Azure SRE Agent pricing

Azure SRE Agent overview

Azure SRE Agent uses agentic AI to empower SRE teams to maintain scalable, reliable systems while lowering the cost of operations. It can free developers from the constant stress of late-night alerts by monitoring production systems 24/7, responding to incidents in real time, and autonomously troubleshooting issues as they arise.

Prices are estimates only and are not intended as actual price quotes. Actual pricing may vary depending on the type of agreement entered with Microsoft, date of purchase, and the currency exchange rate. Prices are calculated based on US dollars and converted using London closing spot rates that are captured in the two business days prior to the last business day of the previous month end. If the two business days prior to the end of the month autumn on a bank holiday in major markets, the rate setting day is generally the day immediately preceding the two business days. This rate applies to all transactions during the forthcoming month. Sign in to the Azure pricing calculator to see pricing based on your current programme/offer with Microsoft. Billing for Azure SRE Agent is based on Azure Agent Units (AAU). AAUs standardize measuring agentic processing across all prebuilt Azure agents. There are two billing components: always-on flow (fixed) and active flow (variable, token-based). Active flow measures the LLM tokens your agent consumes — each token type is metered at a fixed AAU rate based on your agent's configured model. Total cost is a combination of the fixed baseline cost and incremental usage-based costs.

Price component Description Calculation basis Price per AAU Price per flow
Baseline, fixed cost (Always-on flow) Always-on flow: The agent continuously monitors and learns in the background, incurring ongoing charges. 1 AAU X 4 per hour per agent $- $- per hour per agent
Usage-based, variable cost (Active flow) Active flow: When issues are detected, the agent triggers AI responses like incident resolution or scaling. Billing applies only while these tasks run. Visit pricing documentation to see how the agent computes AAU from tokens. $- Visit pricing documentation to see how the agent computes AAU from tokens.

  • Azure Agent Unit (AAU) is a standardized consumption unit that represents the agentic work performed by Azure-hosted autonomous agents, including the Azure SRE Agent.
  • Azure SRE Agent pricing has two parts, billed using Azure Agent Units (AAUs). You pay a fixed always‑on cost of 4 AAUs per agent‑hour, plus variable active‑flow charges based on LLM tokens consumed when the agent works. Rates vary by selected model. Please visit pricing documentation to see how the agent computes AAU from tokens.
  • At this time, free, trial, and Dev/Test AAUs are not available. All usage is billed based on the Azure Agent Unit pay as you go pricing.
