Azure Database for PostgreSQL ending support for PostgreSQL version 9.6 on 11 November 2021
Published date: February 22, 2021
Because PostgreSQL version 9.6 community support ends on 11 November 2021, Azure Database for PostgreSQL will no longer support PostgreSQL version 9.6 after 11 November 2021.
If you choose to maintain your existing Azure Database for PostgreSQL version 9.6 servers beyond the retirement date, restrictions will apply to those servers as described in the Azure Database for PostgreSQL versioning policy document.
Action required
To avoid or minimize disruption to your workloads, we recommend you upgrade your Azure Database for PostgreSQL 9.6 database servers to version 11 before 11 November 2021. Review the steps in the upgrade documentation for more details.
