App Service introduces the new Pv3 SKU for Windows and Linux customers
Published date: September 22, 2020
As customers migrate larger and more demanding web workloads to App Service, they need more scalability. App Service has introduced the new Pv3 SKU with 2-vCore/8GB, 4-vCore/16GB and 8 vCore/32GB options to support more apps per instance as well as larger, more memory intensive enterprise apps and content management systems.
The additional vCores combined with the higher memory-to-vCore ratio across the Pv3 SKU provides more headroom for web applications, with the higher end 8vCore/32GB option being ideal for memory intensive web workloads. Pv3 is available for both Linux and Windows App Service customers, and can be used to host both source-code and container based web applications.
For the first time, App Service customers will also have the option to leverage dev-test pricing for non-production workloads as well as 1-year and 3-year reserved instance (RI) pricing, offering discounts up to 55% off our pay-as-you-go-rates. Both dev-test and reserved instance pricing options will be available November 1st.
