Azure Data Lake Analytics will be retired on 29 February 2024
Published date: March 21, 2022
In February 2021, we announced Azure Data Lake Storage Gen1 will be retiring on 29 February 2024. Since Azure Data Lake Analytics has a dependency on Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS) Gen1, we will retire Azure Data Lake Analytics on the same date.
If you are using Azure Data Lake Analytics, we recommend you migrate to Azure Synapse Analytics before 29 February 2024.
Azure Synapse provides:
- A reduced project development time by combining data integration, data engineering, machine learning, and data warehousing for cloud-scale analytics with a single, unified platform.
- A deeply integrated Spark and SQL engine for analytics: Explore your data lake, data warehouse, and converged analytics from your operational databases.
- An integrated AI and BI experience to discover insights from all your data and apply machine learning models to all your intelligent apps.
Required Action:
To avoid service disruptions, review the steps to migrate to Azure Synapse Analytics as soon as possible so you can complete the migration before 29 February 2024.
