Prices are estimates only and are not intended as actual price quotes. Actual pricing may vary depending on the type of agreement entered with Microsoft, date of purchase, and the currency exchange rate. Prices are calculated based on US dollars and converted using London closing spot rates that are captured in the two business days prior to the last business day of the previous month end. If the two business days prior to the end of the month autumn on a bank holiday in major markets, the rate setting day is generally the day immediately preceding the two business days. This rate applies to all transactions during the forthcoming month. Sign in to the Azure pricing calculator to see pricing based on your current programme/offer with Microsoft. • A Virtual User Hour = (# of virtual users simulated * the duration the simulation in minutes) / 60 minutes per hour. We count the # of active virtual users every 10 seconds and you are charged for the equivalent number of fractional Virtual User Hours you use.

For example, if you simulate 1,000 virtual users for 30 minutes you will be charged for 500 virtual user hours.

  • "Test minutes" represent the total time Playwright tests run in the service’s cloud browsers. We note this time by the second, so you only pay for the exact duration used. For instance, if you run 50 Playwright tests, with each taking 12 seconds on average, you'll be billed for 10 test minutes. This is calculated as 50 tests x 12 seconds ÷ 60 seconds in a minute.
  • Yes. From March 1st, 2026 the minimum VUH per test run would be.

    1. 10 VUs per engine for the test run duration
    2. If the test run duration is less than 10 minutes, 10 VUs per engine for 10 minutes

    For example,

A test run with 5 VUs on 1 engine for 3 hours will have an actual usage of 5 VUs *3 hours*1 engine = 15 VUH. The minimum usage for this run is 10 VUs * 3hours * 1 engine = 30VUH. Since the actual usage is below the minimum usage, you will be charged for the minimum usage i.e. 30 VUH.

A test run with 5 VUs on 1 engine for 5 minutes will have an actual usage of 5 VUs * (5 mins/60) = 0.83 VUH. The minimum usage for this run is 10 VUs * 10 mins /60 * 1 engine = 1.67 VUH. Since the actual usage is below the minimum usage, you will be charged for the minimum usage i.e. 1.67 VUH.

A test run with 500 VUs on 2 engines for 5 minutes, the usage is 500 VUs * (5 mins /60) * 2 = 83.33 VUH. The minimum usage for a run on 2 engines for 10 mins is   10 VUs *  (10 mins / 60) * 2 engines = 3.33 VUH. Since the usage exceeds the minimum usage, you will be charged for the actual usage i.e. 83.33 VUH.
