Actual pricing may vary depending on the type of agreement entered with Microsoft, date of purchase, and the currency exchange rate. Prices are calculated based on US dollars and converted using London closing spot rates that are captured in the two business days prior to the last business day of the previous month end. If the two business days prior to the end of the month autumn on a bank holiday in major markets, the rate setting day is generally the day immediately preceding the two business days. NAT Gateway

NAT Gateway allows customers to simplify outbound connectivity for a virtual network at a per subnet level. Customers can scale their outbound connectivity from a virtual network by adding frontend IP addresses to NAT Gateway. NAT Gateway allows for outbound and response traffic to pass through. Unsolicited inbound connections from the internet are not permitted.

Billing starts when the resource is created. Data processing charges for NAT Gateway include outbound and return data.

  • Yes, the NAT Gateway hourly rate starts as soon as the resource is recreated. The hourly rate will be charged regardless of NAT gateway having subnets or public IPs attached.

  • All data outbound and inbound (return traffic only) is charged per GB.

  • All outbound and return data (response to outbound connections) is charged for by NAT Gateway.

  • Yes, a partial hour is billed as a full hour.

  • Yes, in addition to charging for data processing by NAT Gateway, Azure also charges for data transfer out of Azure data centres. For more information on bandwidth charges, see Bandwidth pricing.
