Since launching the Azure Marketplace at TechED Europe 2014, we’ve continued to make progress toward a single online store that provides customers with choice, flexibility, and access to highly optimized and integrated applications and services ready to deploy in Microsoft Azure. Today, we are excited to announce a significant step forward by making the Marketplace available to a broader customer audience. In addition to Enterprise Agreement (EA) Direct and web-direct customers, EA Indirect customers in 86 countries can now purchase, configure, and deploy more than 3,000 offerings from Microsoft and industry leading software providers through the Azure Marketplace.

Purchasing from the Azure Marketplace

Navigate to the Azure Marketplace. Search or browse applications and services available to deploy in Azure. Select an offering to learn more about the application or service. Click ‘Create’ to start the offer configuration and purchase process. Provide your host and password information as well as select your pricing tier, optional configuration settings, subscription information, and datacenter to deploy the offering.

Please Note: EA Indirect customers will need to contact their reseller to determine pricing details for Marketplace offerings.

Complete the process and deploy the offering in Azure. You will see the application or service in the Azure Management Portal start board.

Billing

Marketplace purchases are billed similar to Azure services. The only difference is that your reseller will issue a separate invoice for Marketplace purchases billed as overage against your EA. Please remember, Marketplace purchases cannot be applied toward EA monetary commitment balances or credits.

Managing your subscriptions

You can view all your Marketplace subscriptions at any time in the “Manage Subscriptions” page within the Microsoft Azure Enterprise Portal (MAEP). You will see subscription and usage information, but at this time Marketplace pricing or spend information will not be available. Your access to the Azure Marketplace will be managed by your Enterprise Administrator. Enterprise Administrators have the ability to ‘disable’ or ‘enable’ Marketplace purchases for all subscriptions under the Azure Enterprise enrollment. If your Enterprise Administrator disables Azure Marketplace purchases, but your enrollment already includes active Marketplace subscriptions, those subscriptions will not be cancelled or impacted by the disablement. Enterprise Administrators also have the ability to download all account and subscription usage data associated with an enrollment in the MAEP. Marketplace usage will appear in the downloaded report. You must have a Microsoft Azure subscription to purchase from the Marketplace. Also, because pricing is determined and set by Marketplace publishers, standard Microsoft discounts and credits cannot be applied toward Marketplace purchases. This limitation includes Microsoft volume licensing discounts, monetary commitment balances, MSDN credits, and other free credits provided by Microsoft.
