General availability: Azure Media Services – HEVC encoding support in Standard Encoder
You can now use High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) or H.265 in the Standard Encoder. This new feature is available for Content Aware encoding, Adaptive Bitrate encoding, and creating your own custom transforms. Using HEVC along with supported decoding devices will provide you with the ability to deliver streaming content at reduced bitrates while maintaining the same video quality compared to H.264/AVC. This in turn will help reduce overall delivery costs through a CDN, and allow your viewers to receive higher quality streams on constrained networks.

Azure Content Delivery Network standard rules engine is now available
Take advantage of new rules to further customize the behavior of standard Azure Content Delivery Network to best meet the needs of your customers. Use the rules engine to modify request and response headers or dynamically override your existing route behavior based on incoming requests. Now generally available with the ability to add additional rules. The first five rules are free.

Azure Front Door is een cloudeigen, modern Content Delivery Network waarmee klanten de prestaties, beveiliging, beschikbaar en schaalbaarheid van hun apps kunnen verbeteren door middel van een prestatiegericht netwerk met lage latentie, een webtoepassingsfirewall, algemene taakverdeling, SSL-offload en TCP/SSL-optimalisaties. Verschillende nieuwe mogelijkheden voor Front Door zijn nu algemeen beschikbaar.
