Microsoft has entered into a Cooperative Research & Development Agreement with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) to develop an optimal method for extracting data from their internal systems. This will allow Microsoft to host weather, water, ocean, and climate data provided by NOAA scientists on our Azure cloud platform.
This collaboration takes a significant step toward realizing the promise of open data and innovation, allowing government and private industry to take advantage of the consolidation of NOAA data in a cloud repository. This, combined with the proximity of vast computing resources, will allow our partners and customers to develop new solutions for citizens and customers.
We are very excited with the early interest and partner engagements in progress, including our partnership with AccuWeather and ESRI.
This site will be continually updated with the latest information on our new and expanding partnerships.
