We are delighted to announce the Azure Import/Export Service is live in Australia East, Australia Southeast, Japan West, Japan East and Central India locations!

Customers with storage accounts in Australia, Japan and India locations now have the option to ship hard disk drives to a local data center.

Customers can use Azure Import/Export Service to copy data to and from Azure Storage by shipping hard disk drives to an Azure data center. Currently, this service is available in public Azure with disk shipping available in locations including East US, East US 2, West US, Central US, North Central US, South Central US, Europe West, Europe North, APAC East, and APAC Southeast.

You can use 3.5 inch SATA II/III internal hard disk drives up to 8 TB in size for copying the data. Use the Azure Import/Export client tool to prepare your drives and create import/export jobs on the Classic portal or using REST API.
