Update self-hosted integration runtime nodes to TLS 1.2 by May 11, 2020

Published date: April 06, 2020

Update your servers/machines running self-hosted integration runtimes that communicate with the Azure Data Factory backend for control plane actions to use transport layer security (TLS) 1.2 by May 11, 2020. This is necessary to improve secure communication and to avoid any service interruptions.

As we now support TLS 1.2, we’re retiring support for both TLS 1.0 and 1.1. If the machine with self-hosted integration runtime uses TLS 1.0, evaluate your TLS 1.2 readiness and develop a migration plan with the testing described in the documentation

TLS 1.2 will be the default security protocol version for Windows 8/Server 2012 or later. No action is required in these cases as you are TLS 1.2 compliant (unless TLS 1.2 is explicitly disabled).

Supported TLS cipher suites:
TLS_ECDHE_RSA_WITH_AES_256_GCM_SHA384
TLS_ECDHE_RSA_WITH_AES_128_GCM_SHA256
TLS_ECDHE_RSA_WITH_AES_256_CBC_SHA384
TLS_ECDHE_RSA_WITH_AES_128_CBC_SHA256
