Azure Blob storage—NFS 3.0 protocol support generally available

Azure Blob Storage is the only storage platform that supports NFS 3.0 protocol over object storage natively (no gateway or data copying required), with object storage economics. With multi-protocol support, customers can run their applications on a single storage platform with no application rewrites necessary, therefore eliminating data silos.
Azure Blob index tags now generally available
Azure Blob index tags now generally available. Blob index tags allows developers and IT Pros to first tag specific blobs (for example, StoreID = "1234") and then filter or query for all blobs to more easily find or use them.

Azure Storage Blob inventory public preview is now available in all public regions
Blob inventory allows you to get a full listing of all blobs within a storage account or container. This can be used in conjunction with Synapse to calculate per container metrics such as capacity and count.

When moving from on premises, you no longer need to split your large files into separate parts to store and process in the cloud. Supporting a single object size up to 200TB removes one complexity when using Azure Storage.

Encryption scopes in Azure Storage now generally available
Encryption scopes enable you to provision multiple encryption keys to manage encryption at the container or blob level. Customers and ISVs can now use a single storage account for multi-tenancy scenarios by provisioning separate encryption keys for each customer. The key that protects an encryption scope may be either a Microsoft-managed key or a customer-managed key in Azure Key Vault.
AzCopy v10.9.0 now in public preview: import from GCP to Azure Block Blobs
AzCopy v10.9.0 now in preview supports Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to Microsoft Azure Storage Block Blob imports. This version also includes scanning logs which can help in debugging.
Directory scoped shared access signatures (SAS) generally available
Directory scoped SAS allows more granular access assignment for ADLS Gen2.
Azure Storage Explorer v1.18.0 is now generally available
New release of Azure Storage Explorer (v1.18.0) will decrease time to load, connect, and transfer data to Azure Storage.
Azure Storage — Routing Preferences now generally available
Routing Preference for Azure Storage provide the flexibility to optimize traffic between clients external to Azure and your storage account for premium network reliability and performance over the Microsoft global network or for cost efficiency using the transit ISP network. You can now also publish route-specific endpoints for your storage account.
Azure Backup: Operational backup for Azure Blobs is now in public preview
Operational backup for Azure Blobs gives you a managed data protection solution for block blobs in your storage accounts.

Resource instance rules for access to Azure Storage now in public preview
Resource instance rules enable secure connectivity to Azure Storage by restricting access to specific resources of select Azure services. Resource instance rules to control access to Azure Storage are now in preview in all Azure public regions.
Generally available: Copy Blob support over private endpoints in Azure Storage
Azure Storage now supports copying of data between storage accounts using private endpoints. This includes support for the Copy Blob API and utilities such as AzCopy.
