Microsoft has been a SAP ERP customer for 20+ years for many core business processes such as Finance and Supply Chain. Learn how Microsoft migrated it’s mission critical 16 TB SAP ERP running on SQL Server to Azure. In this session, you will learn how to leverage Azure’s automation for cost savings, architecture best practices for high performance, security and compliance and examples of how we are leveraging Azure’s AI and ML services with SAP applications to optimize customer experience. Finally, we’ll share how Microsoft is executing on the journey to SAP’s S/4HANA ERP.
AWS has Lambda, Azure has Azure Functions, Web Jobs, and App Service. Whether you want to script pay-by-the-drink web endpoints or build more traditional micro services or run custom workloads in Docker, join us for this code-focused look at architecting, coding, and deploying serverless resources for the .NET developer.
Serverless applications require a complete mindshift when it comes to application development and infrastructure automation. That's okay, but while serverless clearly have potential for increasing the ROI of any business and aid in bringing a product to market faster, they are not concern-free. Join this session during which Alex Mang walks you through the struggles you’re likely to face when developing microservices-based applications running on serverless infrastructures. Learn about frequent issues, how monitoring should be done, how scalability should and can be controlled, how data separation and models should be split and how contracts should be put in place so that an application feature can receive upgrades with no downtime.
When you learn how to build your cloud-native applications using a PaaS architecture, infrastructure management or scaling based on demand isn't a problem anymore. In this session, we discuss how to go all serverless on microservices-based applications with a reference architecture, including data storage, endpoints management, and compute services.
WordPress, Drupal, and other PHP-based websites power more than 40% of all public websites. Microsoft Azure provides numerous ways to scale websites that are IO intensive including Azure App Service, Azure Virtual Machine, and Azure Kubernetes Service. Join this session to see the variety of tools at your disposal to meet the needs of the most resource demanding websites. We take a look at deployment patterns for all sizes of PHP sites, from the tiniest static pages to the largest, most extreme sites you can imagine.
Azure App Service provides 99.95% SLA even for apps running on only a single instance. However, there are steps you should take as a developer to insulate your customers from perceived cold start latencies incurred when deploying a new version of an app. This session walks through using a combination of multi-phase deployment slots (swap with preview), local cache for disk resiliency, application initialization for warmup, and proper app service plan configuration to minimize cold start performance hits.
Working on an web app on Azure App Service or Azure Functions? Join us to learn tips and tricks that will help you quickly and easily diagnose and resolve issues with your web app, Functions app, or App Service environment. In this session, learn how to effectively leverage App Service diagnostics for troubleshooting in both proactive and problem-first scenarios. We walk through real-world scenarios that guide you to a cure for common app issues.

The Azure App Service has had multiple features to enable application isolation and virtual network access. Some of these capabilities required the use of an App Service Environment (ASE). New features have been developed to enable numerous use cases without the use of an ASE such as hosting line-of-business applications, accessing resources across ExpressRoute and also accessing resources that are secured with service endpoints. At the same time we are also making major improvements to the ASE and are enabling greater isolation than previously.
