In this session, we will cover the basics of blockchain and walk through the anatomy of an enterprise blockchain application with special guest Vitalik Buterin, the creator of Ethereum. The session will include how to build and manage Quorum infrastructure with the new Azure Blockchain Service, how to use VS Code create and test smart contracts for both consortium networks and public chains and how to interact with both the ledger and smart contracts using new connectors for Logic Apps and Flow. Vitalik will showcase how these tools work well in the public chain as well as private networks running in Azure. In a demo heavy format, we’ll highlight integrations with both popular Azure services and open source tools, including the just released Confidential Consortium Framework (CCF).
Scenarios that require real-time insights to drive key decisions continue to grow rapidly. Many instances require running some of these analytics close to the data at the edge, and large-scale analytics in the cloud. This session will demonstrate how customers can create these streaming pipelines in minutes by leveraging IoT Hub and Event Hubs (including Kafka client) for massive scale data ingestion; Stream Analytics for real-time analytics; Azure SQL for stream augmentation and data archiving; Power BI for dashboarding & Azure Databricks for downstream batch processing. In this session, Mark explains how blockchains work, including how they use hashes, transactions, blocks and proof-of-work consensus algorithms to build distributed ledgers. He presents the capabilities of some of the most common blockchain networks, then describes how the Confidential Consortium Framework (CCF) addresses their limitations to make blockchains suitable for a wide variety of business consortiums.
