You asked for it, and we listened! With an overwhelming number of requests on the Azure Media Player UserVoice Forum for the ability to switch between multiple audio streams, Azure Media Player 1.3.0 now supports seamless same codec audio switching on the AzureHtml5JS and FlashSS techs! Check out this awesome feature in action with two of our demo streams:

  1. Elephant’s Dream with English and Spanish audio streams
  2. Sintel with Stereo, Surround and Instrumental versions of the audio streams

Audio stream switching can be achieved through the default skin, or programmatically.  It is easy to configure the how the audio track button is displayed on the skin, allowing for you to enable or disable the button and choose how the track label is generated.  The track labels can be generated automatically using the language and bitrate information or from the title of the audio stream as outlined in the manifest.  Check out the sample to see how to do this in JavaScript.

This release also includes several bug fixes.  You might have missed some features and bug fixes in the previous release so be sure to update the latest to get all of these changes. Check out the change log for a full list of updates and features.  We also added a nifty update you might have missed which no longer requires you to put the path to the fallback techs in the head. Azure Media Player will now automatically look at the relative path from the azuremediaplayer.min.js file as structured in the release:
