Select Azure Dedicated Host SKUs will be retired on 31 March 2023
Published date: March 17, 2022
On 31 March 2023, Azure Dedicated Hosts Dsv3-Type1, Esv3-Type1, Dsv3-Type2, and Esv3-Type2 will be retired. Before that date, please migrate to the new Dedicated Host SKUs indicated in the table below.
Current Azure Dedicated Host SKUs | Recommended Dedicated Host SKUs |
Dsv3-Type1 | Dsv3-Type3 or Dsv3-Type4 |
Dsv3-Type2 | Dsv3-Type3 or Dsv3-Type4 |
Esv3-Type1 | Esv3-Type3 or Esv3-Type4 |
Esv3-Type2 | Esv3-Type3 or Esv3-Type4 |
Some of the new capabilities of the new Dedicated Host SKUs include:
- Newer, more efficient processors.
- Increased number of available vCPUs and RAM.
- Greater regional capacity compared to the retiring Dedicated Host SKUs.
- Ability to potentially consolidate your workloads on a reduced number of hosts.
Please transition your workloads to the new Dedicated Hosts soon to take advantage of these new capabilities.
Beginning 31 March 2022, you will no longer be able to create new Dsv3-Type1, Esv3-Type1, Dsv3-Type2, or Esv3-Type2 hosts or purchase new reservations for these SKUs. However, your existing Dedicated Host deployments created before 31 March 2022 will be supported through 31 March 2023.
Required Action
To avoid disruptions to your workloads, review Dedicated Hosts pricing and migrate your VMs to the latest Dedicated Host SKUs before 31 March 2023.
