General availability: Static websites on Azure Storage
We are excited to announce the general availability of static websites on Azure Storage. This capability is available in all public cloud regions.
Connect Cognitive Services subscription to enable unlimited skillset execution
Starting December 21, 2018, you’ll be able to associate your Cognitive Services subscription with an Azure Search skillset. The skillset execution will be charged as part of the Cognitive Services subscription. On December 21, 2018, we’ll also begin charging for image extraction as part of our document-cracking stage. Text extraction from documents will continue to be offered at no additional cost.
Azure Monitor for containers is now available
Azure Monitor for containers is now generally available. Azure Monitor for containers monitors the health and performance of Kubernetes clusters hosted on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).

Public Preview of built-in images for Python on Azure App Service
MongoDB to Azure Cosmos DB migration is in preview
Perform offline (one-time) migrations from on-premises or cloud implementations of MongoDB to Azure Cosmos DB by using the Azure Database Migration Service, which enables resilient migrations of MongoDB data at scale and with high reliability. To perform the migration, provision an instance of the Azure Database Migration Service from the Azure portal or via Azure CLI and create a project.
General availability: Azure Kubernetes Service in East Asia
Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) is now generally available in East Asia.
Azure Database for MariaDB name changes
Effective February 1, 2019, names for Azure Database for MariaDB will change.
Azure databases for MySQL and PostgreSQL resource GUID changes
Effective February 1, 2019, the resource GUIDs for Azure databases for MySQL and PostgreSQL will change due to the migration from Gen 4 compute to Gen 5 compute.
General availability: Azure Virtual Network service endpoints for Azure SQL Data Warehouse
Azure Virtual Network service endpoints for Azure SQL Data Warehouse is now generally available in all Azure regions.
Public preview: JavaScript and page contracts in Azure Active Directory B2C policies
Define page contracts for your content definitions and enable JavaScript for your custom policies, now in public preview for Azure Active Directory B2C.
General availability: Increased compute in Azure Database for MySQL servers
Customers can now scale up their compute to 64 vCores in the General Purpose pricing tiers and 32 vCores in the Memory Optimized tiers in Azure Database for MySQL.
Disaster recovery for virtual machines deployed in Availability Zones to another region
You can now replicate and fail over virtual machines deployed in Availability Zones to other regions by using Azure Site Recovery. This capability is generally available in all regions that support Availability Zones.
