The process can be a bit daunting. Detailed usage data is critical for analysis and reporting, but can be overkill for invoice reconciliation. You need a summary of your usage with the same granularity as the invoice. This is exactly what you get with the new <strong>Invoice details<\/strong> view.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image has-custom-border\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/azure.microsoft.com\/en-us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/2d9c74dc-fa4f-4110-8025-6420fb24984e.webp\" alt=\"The new Invoice details view showing a table with publisher type, charge type, service, tier, meter, and part number.\" style=\"border-radius:0px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With the new Invoice details view, you can also view and filter by part number for Enterprise Agreement (EA) accounts and use publisher and charge type to identify Marketplace purchases. What would you like to see next?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"automate-reporting-across-subscriptions-with-management-group-exports\">Automate reporting across subscriptions with management group exports<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You already know you can dig into your cost and usage data from the Azure portal. You may even know you can get rich reporting from the <a href=\"https:\/\/aka.ms\/costanalysis\/api\">Cost Management Query API<\/a> or get the full details, in all its glory, from the <a href=\"https:\/\/aka.ms\/costmgmt\/usagedetails\">UsageDetails API<\/a>. These are both great for ad-hoc queries, but you may be looking for a simpler solution. This is where Cost Management exports come in!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cost Management exports automatically publish your cost and usage data to a storage account on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. Up to this month, you&#8217;ve been able to schedule exports for billing accounts, subscriptions, and resource groups. Now, you can also schedule exports across subscriptions using <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.microsoft.com\/azure\/governance\/management-groups\">management groups<\/a>. If you manage pay-as-you-go (PAYG) subscriptions, this will be even more powerful because, for the first time, you&#8217;ll be able to export all cost and usage data for your account from a single place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you do start using management groups, don&#8217;t forget they also allow you to <a href=\"https:\/\/aka.ms\/costanalysis\/docs\">analyze and drill into costs<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/aka.ms\/costmgmt\/budgets\">get notified before they go over predefined limits<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Learn more about exports in the <a href=\"https:\/\/aka.ms\/costmgmt\/exports\">Create and manage exported data<\/a> tutorial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"what-s-new-in-cost-management-labs\">What&#8217;s new in Cost Management Labs<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With <a href=\"https:\/\/azure.microsoft.com\/blog\/azure-cost-management-updates-july-2019\/#labs\">Cost Management Labs<\/a>, you get a sneak peek at what&#8217;s coming in Azure Cost Management and can engage directly with us to share feedback and help us better understand how you use the service, so we can deliver more tuned and optimized experiences. Here are a few features you can see in Cost Management Labs:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"wp-block-list-item\"><strong><a href=\"#views\">Download charts as an image<\/a><\/strong> \u2013 This is now available in the public portal.<br>Open the desired view, then click the <strong>Export<\/strong> command at the top, select the <strong>PNG<\/strong> option, and click the <strong>Download charts<\/strong> button.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"wp-block-list-item\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/azure.microsoft.com\/blog\/azure-cost-management-updates-august-2019\/#darktheme\">Dark theme support in cost analysis<\/a><\/strong> \u2013 This is now available in the public portal.<br>Support for the <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.microsoft.com\/azure\/azure-portal\/azure-portal-change-theme-high-contrast#change-theme\">Azure portal dark theme<\/a> was added to cost analysis in early August. We&#8217;re making the last few final touches and expect this to be available from the full portal in early September.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"wp-block-list-item\"><strong>New: Get started quicker with the cost analysis Home view<\/strong><br>Cost Management offers 5 built-in views to get started with understanding and drilling into your costs. Try <a href=\"https:\/\/aka.ms\/costmgmt\/labs\">Cost Management Labs<\/a> today!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"save-and-share-customized-views-in-cost-analysis\">Save and share customized views in cost analysis<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You built a custom view, <a href=\"https:\/\/azure.microsoft.com\/blog\/azure-cost-management-updates-august-2019\/#views\">saved it<\/a>, and even shared it with your team. But now you need to share that view outside the portal. Whether you need to present it as part of a larger PowerPoint deck or simply share it over email, you can now download charts in cost analysis as an image to share it with others. You&#8217;ll see a slightly redesigned Export menu which now offers a PNG option when viewing charts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image has-custom-border\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/azure.microsoft.com\/en-us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/48fdfcfd-5543-4004-80d7-b0c08443003e.webp\" alt=\"Cost analysis Export command with options to download a PNG image, Excel file, or CSV file.\" style=\"border-radius:0px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"new-ways-to-save-money-with-azure\">New ways to save money with Azure<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lots of cost optimization improvements have been introduced over the past month! Here are a few you might be interested in:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"wp-block-list-item\"><a href=\"https:\/\/azure.microsoft.com\/updates\/monthly-payment-options-are-now-available-for-azure-reservations\/\">Lower your upfront reservation costs<\/a> with monthly payment options.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"wp-block-list-item\"><a href=\"https:\/\/azure.microsoft.com\/updates\/reserved-capacity-for-azure-sql-data-warehouse-now-available-in-additional-18-regions\/\">SQL Data Warehouse reservations<\/a> are now available in 18 more regions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"wp-block-list-item\"><a href=\"https:\/\/azure.microsoft.com\/updates\/announcing-pricing-decrease-for-azure-app-service-on-the-premium-plan\/\">App Service Premium plan<\/a> costs an average 35 percent less. Consider switching from the Standard plan to get more for less.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"wp-block-list-item\"><a href=\"https:\/\/azure.microsoft.com\/updates\/we-re-making-azure-archive-storage-better-with-new-lower-pricing\/\">Azure Archive Storage<\/a> costs up to 50 percent less in some regions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"wp-block-list-item\"><a href=\"https:\/\/azure.microsoft.com\/updates\/data-transfer-from-azure-origins-to-azure-cdn-from-microsoft-is-now-free-of-charge\/\">Data transfer to Azure CDN from Microsoft<\/a> sourced from Azure services like Azure Storage and Media Services is free, starting October 2019.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"wp-block-list-item\"><a href=\"https:\/\/azure.microsoft.com\/updates\/azure-sql-database-instance-pools-are-now-in-preview\/\">Azure SQL Database instance pools<\/a> (new preview) offer a new, cost-effective way to migrate smaller databases to the cloud.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"documentation-updates\">Documentation updates<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We added a clarification in the <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.microsoft.com\/azure\/cost-management\/tutorial-acm-create-budgets\">budgets tutorial<\/a> about when to expect email alerts. In general, new cost and usage data is available in Cost Management within 8-12 hours, depending on the service. Budget alerts are processed within the next 4 hours. You can generally expect to receive budget alerts via email or action group within 12-16 hours. Keep in mind this time is based on when services emit usage data.
