WorldDEM4Ortho is based on the global WorldDEM elevation dataset and has a resolution of 24m with a vertical accuracy of 4m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"has-large-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><em>We are thrilled to be a part of the Microsoft Azure community,\u201d<\/em> said Fran\u00e7ois Lombard, Director of the Intelligence Business at Airbus Defense and Space.<em> \u201cAzure Maps users, eager for accurate and top-quality imagery, will be able to rely on Airbus\u2019 premium data services to develop new applications and turn their innovative ideas into reality.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Together, Microsoft and Airbus can unlock new <a href=\"https:\/\/azure.microsoft.com\/en-us\/resources\/cloud-computing-dictionary\/what-is-cloud-computing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">cloud computing<\/a> scenarios and equip organizations around the globe with insights that can enable innovative solutions to complex and time-consuming questions, such as the following.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"empowering-a-more-predictable-supply-chain\">Empowering a more predictable supply chain<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Global supply chains and businesses all around the world have been faced with unprecedented disruptions due to major spikes in consumer demand, product shortages, and traffic congestion. Airbus imagery combined with Azure Machine Learning and AI can help organizations predict a disruption before it happens by analyzing shipping routes, traffic patterns, and global consumer buying trends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Azure Cognitive Services, like <a href=\"https:\/\/azure.microsoft.com\/en-us\/services\/cognitive-services\/custom-vision-service\/#overview\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Custom Vision<\/a>, allow organizations to develop and deploy machine learning models on satellite imagery to help better understand global shipping patterns by identifying the location and quantity of cargo ships waiting to be unloaded at ports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/azure.microsoft.com\/en-us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/6f7ae8a9-a292-42c1-8139-703d40541b69.gif\" alt=\"Azure Cognitive Services using a Machine Learning Model to detect a ship on a satellite image of a port. \" title=\"Detect a ship on a satellite.\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Azure Cognitive Services using a Machine Learning Model to detect a ship on a satellite image of a port.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The insights derived from satellite imagery can then go into tools such as Microsoft Power BI and be combined with other data streams to provide analytics to drive decision-making. This technology can serve as another set of eyes for first responders on the ground by connecting them with the freshest data powered by space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"using-azure-space-and-earth-observation-imagery-to-restore-the-loss-of-wetlands\">Using Azure Space and Earth Observation Imagery to restore the loss of wetlands<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Combining the power of Azure with Airbus satellite imagery ranging from 30cm to more than 20m, we can create a mapping of inventory to identify wetlands at risk of carbon fixation, decomposition, and sequestration.
