The European Commission adopted <a href=\"https:\/\/www.privacyshield.gov\/EU-US-Framework\">The EU-US Privacy Shield Framework<\/a> on July 12th 2016, replacing the International Safe Harbor Privacy Principles as the mechanism for allowing companies in the EU and the US to transfer personal data across the Atlantic in a manner compliant with the EU data protection requirements. As stated on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.privacyshield.gov\/welcome\">PrivacyShield.gov<\/a>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"has-large-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><em>The EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework was designed by the U.S. Department of Commerce and European Commission to provide companies on both sides of the Atlantic with a mechanism to comply with EU data protection requirements when transferring personal data from the European Union to the United States in support of transatlantic commerce.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignright size-full has-custom-border\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/azure.microsoft.com\/en-us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/3ebd65af-6881-493b-bd74-cb0f4c8ff06e.webp\" alt=\"graphical user interface, application\" class=\"wp-image-9958
