It allows you to use SQL Server or Azure SQL as input data sources or output data sinks for Spark jobs. To date, the connector supported Spark 2.4 workloads, but now, you can use the connector as you take advantage of the many benefits of Spark 3.0 too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"why-use-the-apache-spark-connector-for-sql-server-and-azure-sql\">Why use the Apache Spark Connector for SQL Server and Azure SQL<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Apache Spark Connector for SQL Server and Azure SQL is based on the Apache Spark DataSourceV1 API and SQL Server Bulk API and uses the same interface as the built-in Java Database Connectivity (JDBC) Spark-SQL connector. This allows you to easily integrate the connector and migrate your existing Spark jobs by simply updating the format parameter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Notable features and benefits of the connector:<br>\u2022&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <a href=\"https:\/\/spark.apache.org\/releases\/spark-release-3-0-0.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Compatible with Apache Spark 3.0.<\/a><br>\u2022&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Support for all Apache Spark bindings (Scala, Python, R).<br>\u2022&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Basic authentication, Active Directory (AD) Key Tab, and Azure Active Directory support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To learn more about the connector and how to use it, visit the <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/microsoft\/sql-spark-connector\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">GitHub page<\/a>.
