Today, I am excited to announced we are introducing the next generation of storage-optimized L-series VMs powered by AMD EPYC<sup>TM<\/sup> processors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We\u2019re thrilled to have AMD available as part of the Azure Compute family. We\u2019ve worked closely with AMD to develop the next generation of storage optimized VMs called Lv2-Series, powered by AMD\u2019s EPYC\u2122 processors. The Lv2-Series is designed to support customers with demanding workloads like MongoDB, Cassandra, and Cloudera that are storage intensive and demand high levels of I\/O.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lv2-Series VM\u2019s use the AMD EPYC\u21227551 processor, featuring a core frequency of 2.2Ghz and a maximum single-core turbo frequency of 3.0GHz.&nbsp;Lv2-Series VMs will come in sizes up to 80 vCPU\u2019s and 19.2TB of local resource disk.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table class=\"has-fixed-layout\"><tbody><tr><td>Size<\/td><td>vCPU\u2019s<\/td><td>Memory (GiB)<\/td><td>Local SSD&nbsp;<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>L8s<\/td><td>8<\/td><td>64<\/td><td>1 x 1.9TB NVMe
