It\u2019s exciting to see the growth of these services and that customers are using multiple monitoring services to get visibility into issues and resolve them faster. To make it even easier to adopt Azure monitoring services, today we are announcing a new consistent purchasing experience across the monitoring services. Three key attributes of this new pricing model are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"1-consistent-pay-as-you-go-pricing\">1. Consistent pay-as-you-go pricing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We are adopting a simple \u201cpay-as-you-go\u201d model across the complete portfolio of monitoring services. You have full control and transparency, so you pay for only what you use.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"2-consistent-per-gigabyte-gb-metering-for-data-ingestion\">2. Consistent per gigabyte (GB) metering for data ingestion<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We are changing the pricing model for data ingestion from \u201cper node\u201d to \u201cper GB\u201d. Customers told us that the value in monitoring came from the amount of data received and the insight built on top of that, rather than the number of nodes. In addition, this new model works best for the future of containers and microservices where the definition of a node is less clear. \u201cPer GB\u201d data ingestion is the new basis for pricing across application, infrastructure, and networking monitoring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"3-choice-of-pricing-models-for-existing-customers\">3. Choice of pricing models for existing customers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We understand that some of our existing customers have use cases that are optimized for the current \u201cper node\u201d model and we want to ensure that this change does not disrupt you. <em>Existing customers can choose to continue with the current per node pricing model.<\/em> In most cases, Operations Management Suite license customers should remain on the per node pricing model to take advantage of their entitlements instead of moving to the new pricing model. Many of these changes are a direct result of collaboration between Microsoft and the community.
