{"id":2660,"date":"2018-06-04T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2018-06-04T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/azure.microsoft.com\/blog\/speech-services-now-in-preview"},"modified":"2023-05-11T15:39:17","modified_gmt":"2023-05-11T22:39:17","slug":"speech-services-now-in-preview","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/azure.microsoft.com\/en-us\/blog\/speech-services-now-in-preview\/","title":{"rendered":"Speech services now in preview"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>This blog post was authored by the Microsoft Speech Services team\u00e2&#8364;&#8249;. <\/em><\/p>\n<p>At Microsoft Build 2018, the Microsoft Speech Services team announced the following new and improved products and services.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/azure.microsoft.com\/en-us\/services\/cognitive-services\/speech-services\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Speech service<\/a> as a preview, including <a href=\"https:\/\/azure.microsoft.com\/services\/cognitive-services\/speech-to-text\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Speech to Text<\/a> with <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.microsoft.com\/azure\/cognitive-services\/speech-service\/how-to-customize-speech-models\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">custom speech<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/azure.microsoft.com\/en-us\/services\/cognitive-services\/text-to-speech\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Text to Speech<\/a> with <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.microsoft.com\/azure\/cognitive-services\/speech-service\/how-to-customize-voice-font\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">custom voice<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/azure.microsoft.com\/en-us\/services\/cognitive-services\/speech-translation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Speech Translation<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.microsoft.com\/azure\/cognitive-services\/speech-service\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Speech SDK<\/a> as a preview, which will replace the old Bing Speech APIs when generally available in fall 2018. It will be the single SDK for most of our speech services, and will require only one Azure subscription key for speech recognition and <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.microsoft.com\/azure\/cognitive-services\/luis\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">LUIS<\/a> (language understanding service). With simplified APIs, Speech SDK makes it easy for new and experienced speech developers.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/aka.ms\/sdsdk-info\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Speech Devices SDK<\/a>, as a restricted preview, has advanced multi-microphone array audio processing algorithm that&#8217;s fine-tuned to the backend Speech Services, and works great on the Roobo&#8217;s dev kits for exceptional speech experiences, and the ability to <a href=\"https:\/\/aka.ms\/sdsdk-kws\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">customize the wake word<\/a> to strengthen your brand.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To learn more, please read the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zdnet.com\/article\/microsoft-moves-toward-consolidating-its-many-speech-services\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ZDNet article<\/a> highlighting these products and services.<\/p>\n<p>We also demonstrated our Speech Recognition capabilities in the Satya Nadella\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/medius.studios.ms\/Embed\/Video\/KEY01?sid=KEY01\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">vision keynote<\/a> at Microsoft Build 2018.
