We\u2019ve also made enhancements to the way you find what you need in the Azure Marketplace, to the management experience for Site Recovery, Access Control, and database services.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sign in to the <a href=\"https:\/\/portal.azure.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Azure portal<\/a> now and see everything that\u2019s new. Sometimes you have a work account and a personal one, or you may be working for multiple companies.<\/p>\n<p>At Ignite, we announced a new way for you to switch between different Azure accounts in the Azure portal. Instead of logging off, closing your browser and starting over, you can simply select your account card in the right-top corner of the portal and select \u201cSign in with a different account.&#8221; Once you sign in, your account is added to your account card and you can toggle between them seamlessly. To learn more about this announcement, please see \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/azure.microsoft.com\/en-us\/blog\/azure-user-experience-improvements\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Announcing Azure user experience improvements at Ignite 2018<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re happy to reveal that improved account switching is now generally available to all Azure users.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Account switching in the Azure portal for Peri Rocha\" height=\"480\" src=\"https:\/\/azure.microsoft.com\/en-us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/2f1ae353-17e5-46ef-a844-36217070db6a.webp\" title=\"Peri Rocha\" width=\"422\"><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><em>Account switching now generally available<\/em><\/p>\n<h2>Azure Marketplace<\/h2>\n<h3><a name=\"New%20filters%20in%20Azure%20Marketplace\">New filters in Azure Marketplace<\/a><\/h3>\n<p>We\u2019ve added filters to the browse experience in Azure Marketplace to help you easily find the services you need. You can now filter the marketplace list by pricing, operating system, and publisher.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"New filters available in Azure Marketplace\" height=\"477\" src=\"https:\/\/azure.microsoft.com\/en-us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/42e187ce-e65c-4f88-ab1a-80d303d331d4.webp\" title=\"New filters\" width=\"1352\"><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><em>New filters now available in Azure Marketplace<\/em><\/p>\n<p>To find the new filters:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Select <strong>Create a Resource<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>See all<\/strong>, next to \u201cAzure Marketplace.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>Management tools<\/h2>\n<h3><a name=\"Improved%20Recovery%20Services%20vault%20dashboard\">Improved Recovery Services vault dashboard<\/a><\/h3>\n<p>Recently, we announced the capability to configure <a href=\"https:\/\/aka.ms\/cross-sub-blog\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">cross-subscription disaster recovery for Azure Virtual Machines (VMs)<\/a> and to replicate VMs with <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.microsoft.com\/en-us\/azure\/security\/azure-security-disk-encryption-windows-aad\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">disk encryption<\/a> from one Azure region to another. For more details, refer to <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.microsoft.com\/azure\/site-recovery\/azure-to-azure-how-to-enable-replication-ade-vms\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the documentation<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>As part of improving the user experience and performance, we\u2019ve improved the Recovery Services vault dashboard with a consolidated operations menu (a), an overview section with details about recent announcements (b), and dedicated tabs for Backup and Site Recovery (c). You can also refresh the view with the latest data on demand using the \u201cRefresh\u201d option on the top (d).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Improved experience for managing Recovery Services vault\" height=\"740\" src=\"https:\/\/azure.microsoft.com\/en-us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/90138ac6-68a6-482f-bb22-5389e4f10d45.webp\" title=\"Recovery Services\" width=\"576\"><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><em>Improved experience for managing Recovery Services vault<\/em><\/p>\n<p>In replicated item view, you can view the latest recovery points by selecting \u201c<strong>Latest recovery points<\/strong>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><em><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Recovery Services\" height=\"840\" src=\"https:\/\/azure.microsoft.com\/en-us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/223fc105-6f60-4bfa-8cfc-eb708315eb19.webp\" title=\"Recovery Services\" width=\"2772\"><\/em><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><em>Easily see latest recover points.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>You can now also edit \u201cCompute and Network\u201d properties.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"New edit capability\" height=\"1199\" src=\"https:\/\/azure.microsoft.com\/en-us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/7fdbc882-c8f9-45f4-b584-0015bc6232f6.webp\" title=\"New edit capability\" width=\"1911\"><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><em>New \u201cedit\u201d capability.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>To see the improved dashboard, open an existing Recovery Services vault, or create a new one:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Select <strong>All services<\/strong> above the \u201cfavorites\u201d menu.<\/li>\n<li>In the \u201cAll services\u201d box, type <strong>Recovery Services vault<\/strong> and select it when shown.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Add<\/strong> and follow the on-screen instructions.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>Databases<\/h2>\n<h3><a name=\"Redesigned%20SQL%20Data%20Warehouse%20overview%20blade\">Redesigned SQL Data Warehouse overview blade<\/a><\/h3>\n<p>We have redesigned the SQL Data Warehouse (DW) overview blade to provide an at-a-glance understanding of the status of your data warehouse. In the overview blade, you can now see the Data Warehouse Units (DWU) usage over the last hour, the features available in SQL DW and whether they are configured or not, and common tasks for managing your data warehouse. You can select any of these tiles in overview to be taken to the full details and settings.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"The new SQL Data Warehouse Blade\" height=\"1580\" src=\"https:\/\/azure.microsoft.com\/en-us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/17c2b2b1-458e-4121-8d05-12fd685d0180.webp\" title=\"SQL Data Warehouse Blade\" width=\"2905\"><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><em>The new SQL Data Warehouse overview blade<\/em><\/p>\n<p>To see the improved overview blade, open an existing SQL Data Warehouse, or create a new one:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Select <strong>All services<\/strong> above the \u201cfavorites\u201d menu.<\/li>\n<li>In the \u201cAll services\u201d box, type <strong>SQL Data Warehouses<\/strong> and select it when shown.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Add<\/strong> and follow the on-screen instructions.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3><a name=\"Updated%20experience%20for%20SQL%20logical%20server%20creation\">Updated experience for SQL logical server creation<\/a><\/h3>\n<p>We have added some new flexibility and options to the SQL logical server creation experience. You can now start a trial of Advanced Threat Protection as soon as the server is created, which is recommended to assist with protecting your production databases. Additionally, you can now toggle the option to &#8220;allow Azure services to access [this] server,&#8221; which is enabled by default. This setting is recommended if you use the SQL query editor or want to connect your app or VM to your databases.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"New options to create SQL logical servers\" height=\"805\" src=\"https:\/\/azure.microsoft.com\/en-us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/e4357c2f-ef89-4821-ae66-ab6614149f92.webp\" title=\"New options to create SQL logical servers\" width=\"386\"><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><em>New options to create SQL logical servers.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>To see the updated experience, create a new SQL server:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Select <strong>All services<\/strong> above the <strong>Favorites<\/strong> menu.<\/li>\n<li>In the All services box, type <strong>SQL servers<\/strong> and select it when it is shown.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Add<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Provide information for required fields (i.e., Server name). Observe the &#8220;Advanced threat protection&#8221; setting. Select <strong>Start free trial<\/strong> to give it a try.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Create<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3><a name=\"New%20%C3%A2%C2%80%C2%9CAllocated%20space%C3%A2%C2%80%C2%9D%20metric%20in%20SQL%20DB%20overview\">New &#8220;Allocated space&#8221; metric in SQL DB overview<\/a><\/h3>\n<p>Monitoring allocated space is useful when you have workload patterns where the allocation of underlying data files for databases can become larger than the number of used data pages. This occurs because file space allocated is not automatically reclaimed when data is deleted. We have added the &#8220;allocated space&#8221; metric to the database storage donut chart in the SQL database overview blade, so you can now understand your allocated space and know when to shrink your data files.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"New chart shows allocated space for SWL databases\" height=\"1580\" src=\"https:\/\/azure.microsoft.com\/en-us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/b9fe89f9-ccf2-4e9e-9194-099b9b3242bf.webp\" title=\"New chart\" width=\"2906\"><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><em>The new chart shows allocated space for SQL databases<\/em><\/p>\n<p>To see the improved overview blade, open an existing SQL database, or create a new one:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Select <strong>All services<\/strong> above the <strong>Favorites<\/strong> menu.<\/li>\n<li>In the <strong>All services<\/strong> box, type <strong>SQL databases<\/strong> and select it when shown.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Add<\/strong> and follow the on-screen instructions.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>For more information on managing your storage space, refer to the product <a href=\"https:\/\/go.microsoft.com\/fwlink\/?linkid=2031078\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">documentation<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Others<\/h2>\n<h2><a id=\"Updates to Microsoft Intune\" name=\"Updates%20to%20Microsoft%20Intune\">Updates to Microsoft Intune<\/a><\/h2>\n<p>The Microsoft Intune team has been hard at work working on updates as well.
