{"id":1837,"date":"2018-12-19T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2018-12-19T08:00:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2023-07-28T10:31:40","modified_gmt":"2023-07-28T17:31:40","slug":"virtual-network-service-endpoints-for-serverless-messaging-and-big-data","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/azure.microsoft.com\/en-us\/blog\/virtual-network-service-endpoints-for-serverless-messaging-and-big-data\/","title":{"rendered":"Virtual Network Service Endpoints for serverless messaging and big data"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>This blog was co-authored by Sumeet Mittal, Senior Program Manager, Azure Networking.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Earlier this year in July, we announced the public preview for <strong>Virtual Network Service Endpoints and Firewall rules<\/strong> for both <a href=\"https:\/\/azure.microsoft.com\/en-us\/services\/event-hubs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Azure Event Hubs<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/azure.microsoft.com\/en-us\/services\/service-bus\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Azure Service Bus<\/a>. Today, we\u2019re excited to announce that we are making these capabilities <strong>generally available<\/strong> to our customers.<\/p>\n<p>This feature adds to the security and control Azure customers have over their cloud environments. Now, traffic from your virtual network to your Azure Service Bus Premium namespaces and Standard and Dedicated Azure Event Hubs namespaces can be kept secure from public Internet access and completely private on the Azure backbone network.<\/p>\n<p>Virtual Network Service Endpoints do this by extending your virtual network private address space and the identity of your virtual network to your virtual networks. Customers dealing with PII (Financial Services, Insurance, etc.) or looking to further secure access to their cloud visible resources will benefit the most from this feature.
